Why are sports businesses investing in esports? Is it a long-term strategic play rooted in a sound commercial rationale and real insight, because competitors are and there is a fear of missing out, in a response to questions from the Board about what the esports strategy is, because they’re ‘innovative’, or is it a kneejerk reaction to it being a hot topic the whole sports industry is talking about?

Whatever the reason, can esports be an effective marketing and engagement platform for sports businesses? If so, how? Are simulation sports games the only and best way for sports to enter esports and/or leverage the human behaviours that drive its interest?

All this and more will be discussed in the opening panel of Esports Insider London 2019 on Monday 16th September. Following Strive Sponsorship’s work with World Rugby and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB),  Managing Director Malph Minns is well placed to join the panel of other esports industry experts to offer insights. Tickets are still available and can be bought by clicking here.
